Besides the five pillars of Islam, it is strongly required that every healthy Muslim adult must get married at some stage of his or her life. LIMAUK as a social organization has always strived to encourage its members to get committed, when any members propose to tie the knots.

So, it wasn’t a surprise when members of LIMAUK decided to get behind two of its members getting united in holy matrimony.

On June 22 of this year, Mr. Ansumana Kromah commonly known as ‘Don Pekin’ decided to take the hands of Bendu Mento in holy matrimony. The occasion was arranged in two parts: the blessing of the Iman at the Cheetamhill Mosque was meant to make the event religious official while the second aspect included huge refreshment attended by friends and relatives.

At 10 am, the first aspect of the ceremony began with a trip to Cheetamhill Mosque. The Iman blessed the couples while relatives and friends bear witness. The Iman said that he was happy to see two young couple preparing to follow the will of Allah and live together for better and for worse. This essential part was witnessed by relatives and friends including Jacuba Dolley, serving as guardian of the groom with Mr. Vamuyan Sheriff and Asata Sannoh representing the bride.

During the ceremony at the mosque, the Imam prayed for the bride and groom. This was followed by the signing of the certificate by the bride and groom, including their guardians.

At 12:45, the procession continued from Cheetamhill to Oldham where an outdoor barbecue and indoor ceremony/grand ball awaited the couple. Strongly visible among the crowd were the women of Limaniya who were very instrumental in the organization of the wedding. The bride is also a full fledge member of Limaniya.

Before the barbecue and grand ball commenced, prayer was recited by Brother Abbas Fofana. The Bride and Groom exchanged rings amid a photo shoot and loud cry of joy by all present.

Finally, the gig began when the DJ started playing music. The party lasted into the evening hours (20:30) of Sunday.
